Laird Technologies' Cylindrical EMI suppression ferrites are a cost-effective solution for reducing common and differential mode EMI in electronic equipment cables. These cores are commonly used to suppress common mode EMI in internal and external cable assemblies. By reducing EMI radiation from internal cables, ferrite cores can lower the overall shielding cost and requirements for a product's enclosure. They are effective for power cables carrying digital or analog signaling. To optimize EMI filtering, choose a ferrite with an inner diameter closely matching the outer diameter of the wire. Passing 2 turns of the wire through the ferrite core significantly increases in-circuit impedance. In a typical common mode application, two conductors passed through a ferrite core with equal and opposite currents result in zero net bias and maximum impedance.
